Supported devices
Check which phones, headsets and browsers work with AR Clip VPS, and which hardware you can use to capture maps.
AR Clip VPS runs on phones, AR glasses and in the browser. Connect through one of our SDKs, or call the REST API directly. Localization needs no markers, does not depend on GPS, and web projects need no app store.

Web SDK
AR Clip is built for the web first. VPS works in the browser in projects built with AR Clip Studio, and in your own JavaScript and TypeScript code with the Web SDK. The Web SDK runs on WebXR in Chrome on Android, and on 8th Wall tracking in browsers without WebXR, such as Safari on iPhone.
| Integration | What it does | Status |
|---|---|---|
| AR Clip Studio SDK | Launch and control scenes in the browser | Supported |
| Web SDK | VPS in your own JavaScript or TypeScript code | Supported |
| WebXR integration | VPS on browser WebXR tracking, in Chrome on Android | Supported, in the Web SDK |
| AR Clip (instant app) | Opens from a QR code, with nothing to install | Supported |
| AR Clip × 8thWall Bridge | AR Clip VPS with 8thWall SLAM tracking | Supported, in the Web SDK |
| AR Clip × Zappar Template | AR Clip VPS with Zappar SLAM (Mattercraft) | Supported |
With AR Clip, a QR code opens your WebAR scene straight away, with live VPS localization.
REST API
The AR Clip REST API connects VPS to your own services, back ends and automated capture pipelines. With it you can:
- Build maps — upload videos or image sets, and AR Clip builds the map for you.
- Localize — send camera frames and get back a precise
pose. - Manage projects — handle maps, projects and API keys from your own tools.
Use it to automate mapping, coverage analytics and quality checks across many sites.
